Education & Adult Social Care – Checking in on the Shaftesbury in Bloom planters

Recently, EMA education students and EMA Social Care attendees in Gillingham worked together for our annual collaboration with Shaftesbury in Bloom, delivering 130 troughs and 20 barrels to the local community, all in aid of their efforts towards Britain in Bloom, and in late June we took a little trip to see how everything was looking in town.

Alongside staff at our Gillingham campus, students and social care service users put their horticulture skills to work and it really is brilliant to see the plants out in the town – a beautiful result from this cross-provision effort and project with the local community.

“This is always such a great group project, everyone always really enjoy participating. It gives us all, from staff, to students, and social care services users a sense of pride and happiness seeing how much the local residents and visitors to the town enjoy all the displays. Everyone worked so hard planting up . Special recognition to Tom and Alexander who worked especially hard this year. Amazing job, guys.” – Sam Moors, EMA Adult Social Care
