Work at the Gillingham campus has been moving along swiftly, and we’re happy to share our new site map which shows some of the adjustments we’ve made. Students and service users have already been benefiting from the use of dedicated outdoor space for education and adult social care, along with utilising the café space for more focused hospitality and retail training suited to their diverse needs.
We hosted an event on campus last week, where parents and carers of students and service users were invited to enjoy cakes and hot drinks prepared by the students, and receive a first hand look at the developments we’re making. The map shows how changes to the space have been made to better suit the needs and requirements of our students and service users, along with improved areas of operation for our EMA staff so they can efficiently support everyone on site.
Adjustments to the campus include those new outdoor spaces assigned to education and adult social care, re-purposing of the café and an in-development independent living suite, which will allow EMA service users to maintain and build on their own independence. We’re already seeing the benefits and how this improves the overall experience for those who attend EMA and we look forward to sharing more insight very soon.
