Happy New Year!

Hello 2022! We’re back and It’s already been a busy few days! Lots of prep in the cafés, work in the gardens, studying in the classroom and more. Senior Tutor Bradley Kendrick had a message to pass on!

“Happy New Year to all! A bit of reflection from last year. We ended with an enrichment week with the students taking part in a number of activities both on and off site. At Moreton we had a sports group go to the FTY Lab in Poole and put some football skills to the test. Students supported the preparation and cooking of nearly 100 Christmas meals and a Science and Arts group popped down to Lyme Regis and visit the fossil museum.

Whilst at Thorngrove, the students completed the Nutcracker Trail in Salisbury and planned their own Christmas Disco with disco lights and a bubble machine as well as sitting down and enjoying a Christmas Bap together. Overall, this was a huge success and something we hope to continue doing in the future. It got everyone in the mood for Christmas and their well deserved break.

Where there has been a rise in COVID cases over the December period and continuing into the new year, we have been taking the following measures for the students. On their first day back, students took an onsite COVID test, after this they will take 2 a week at home using a lateral flow kit. As and when there are changes we will ensure to keep everyone up to date and informed. EMA remains a safe place for all our students and staff to attend.

As we go into 2022 let’s hope it brings lots more positivity and new opportunities for the students. Even these first few days have seen lots of smiles and engagement and it’s been brilliant to see everyone raring to go!”
