EMA Students at our Gillingham campus undertake qualifications in functional English, Maths and Digital Skills, as well as vocational courses. This education is delivered in an environment which offers industry-like training environments for hospitality and retail; this allows the students to effectively develop skills as they progress through their study programmes for both Preparation for Adulthood, and Support For Employment.
Students complete external work experience and community projects within the local community; such as supplying all the vibrant planters for Shaftesbury’s entry into Britain in Bloom. Their efforts together with the assistance of EMA Day Service users, resulted in Shaftesbury in Bloom becoming award-winning for the second consecutive year.
We also welcome members of the local community through our doors to our student-led events such as afternoon teas, fundraising efforts for charity, bake sales and car washes.
The Gillingham campus offers the space, support, and learning environments needed to help promote our students in building their confidence, developing those all-important employability skills, whilst at the same time strengthening their connections within the community.
Full details of recent changes and developments to the Gillingham campus will be shared soon.
